What we collect, and where

Email signups. When you sign up for a free sheet, a checklist or the email list, we collect your email address, your first name if you give it, and which page you signed up from. That is stored in Mailchimp.

The Two Minute Burnout Check. Your answers and your score stay in your browser. They are never sent to us or stored. If you sign up at the end, only your name and email are sent.

The free app. What you write in the app is saved on your own device only. It is not sent to us.

What Men Carry. Submissions are anonymous. We store the words you write, plus the age range and province if you choose them. We do not collect an email address or a name. Submissions are stored in Mailchimp and read by the person who runs this site.

Purchases. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card details. Stripe shares your name, email and what you bought with us so we can deliver it. Purchases on Etsy are covered by Etsy's own policy.

Site usage. We use Vercel Web Analytics and Google Analytics to see which pages are visited and for how long. These are not linked to your email address. Our host, Vercel, keeps standard server logs, which include IP addresses.

How we use it

To deliver what you asked for, and to send occasional emails from Downshift Men if you signed up for them. We do not sell your information, use it for advertising profiles, or make automated decisions about you.

Who processes it

Mailchimp (email list and anonymous submissions), Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting and analytics) and Google (analytics). These companies may store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to local law. We share your information with no one else.

How long we keep it

Until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Purchase records are kept as long as tax law requires.

Unsubscribing and your rights

Every email includes an unsubscribe link. Click it and you are removed straight away. You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing info@downshiftmen.ca. We follow Canada's privacy law (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Age

This site is meant for adults. It is not directed at anyone under 18.
